This prologue to the gospel of John is a glorious account of the incarnation. The eternal Word of God, Jesus Christ became flesh and made his dwelling among us. This is truly good news for rebellious humanity, because all who believe in his name he has given the right to be children of God. All of this is possible because he was born in order to die for those he came to save and rise again on the third day to prove he had paid the penalty for sin.
