This final chapter of 2 Samuel tells of King David's prideful census of his armed forces. God's anger was kindled against David's trust in his military power, instead of trusting the Lord. As a result God judged Israel with a 3 day plague. God's wrath was finally averted because David's renewed trust led him to true repentance and faith by making burnt offerings to the Lord.
