As Jesus enters into Jerusalem, he is celebrated as the Son of David who has come to bring salvation. Jesus further shows his Messianic authority by cleansing the temple and cursing the fig tree. Again, Jesus demonstrates he is looking for true saving faith, not external righteousness.
