The church is a flock, and God has called Elders to faithfully shepherd the flock in all humility and gentleness, as under-shepherds of Christ Jesus. Likewise, the whole flock is to live humbly with each other, resisting the evil one and standing firm through suffering until the return of that great shepherd of the sheep: the Lord Jesus Christ.
