The generations of Shem, Ham and Japheth multiply. Their descendants settle in the plains of Shinar and decide to build a tower with its top in the heavens, in order to make a name for themselves. This is an act of defiance against God's command to disperse and fill the earth. Even in the 21st century people are constantly seeking to make a name for themselves and robbing God of his rightful glory. As we proclaim the good news of Jesus we are reversing the effects of Babel, as the name of Jesus is lifted high to the ends of the earth.
