The Galatians were attempting to live out the Christian life by the flesh, rather than by the Spirit. They had forgotten, that it is those of faith who are sons of Abraham and share in the blessing of the patriarch. Reliance on the law puts us under a curse, and only faith in Jesus' atoning sacrifice can redeem us from it.
