Liberty of Conscience

God has given every human being a conscience whereby we can discern right from wrong. Our conscience is bound only to the Word of God. Since God has ordained earthly rulers over us, we are to honor them and submit to them. However, if human government stands in opposition to the commandments of God, then we are free to respectfully follow in the footsteps of the Apostles and say: "We must obey God rather than men."
